Altar Ashby Thompson
?/b?Ashby-Thompson - A most interesting event took place on Wednesday afternoon Dec 30?sup?th?/sup? at the home of Mrs. John R Thompson, Drummond, when her youngest daughter, Bessie Joan was united in the holy bonds of matrimony with Mr. James Ashby of Playfair, son of the late William Ashby of Fallbrook. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. A.H. Scott, Perth. The bride, who was given away by her brother, was very prettily attired in cream serge rimmed with shadow lace and swans down. At the conclusion of the ceremony and after congratulations, the guests sat down to a sumptuous repast. In the evening, the bridal party drove to the groom's home at Playfair where a reception was held, and a most enjoyable time was spent by all. The many gifts received testify to the esteem of bride and groom. All join in wishing Mr. and Mrs. Ashby a long and happy married life.
