  	Died 3 Oct 1902 in E. Miller notes Lanark Era, 8 Oct 1902 At Fallbrook, Friday, Oct. 3rd, Elizabeth Foster, relict of the late William Ashby, aged 81 years. Born in Ireland, she came to this country with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Foster, when she was about a year old. She became the wife of Wm. Ashby about sixty years ago, and is survived by five children; John, William, and Martha, in Bathurst; Mrs. M. Leyden, and Mrs. John Thompson, Reston, Man. Burial to the Fallbrook cemetery. Friday 10 Oct 1902     Fallbrook     page 5 column 1,2  Perth Courier Died - on Friday, the 3rd Oct., Mrs. Ashby (nee Foster) relict of the late Wm. Ashby, in her 83rd year. Her remains were interred in the Playfair Cemetery on Sunday. Friday 17 Oct 1902     Obituary     page 4 column 4  Perth Courier Mrs. Wm. Ashby passed away at her residence near Fallbrook on Friday of last week, at the ripe old age of 81 years. Deceased was a native of Ireland, her maiden name being Elizabeth Foster. She came to Canada with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John  Foster, when a year old, and has been a continuous resident of Bathurst since that time. About sixty years ago she became the wife of Mr. William Ashby, who predeceased her some three years. Five children survive - John, William, and Martha in Bathurst; Mrs. M. Leyden and Mrs. John Thompson, Reston, Man. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon to the Fallbrook cemetery, Rev. C.A. Heaven conducting the services. - Lanark Era.
