  	John Armour Sr. was a member of the "Paisley Townhead Emigration Society" that came to Canada on the ship "Earl of Buckinghamshire" in 1821 and settled on West half of Lot 2 Concession 2 Dalhousie Township, Lanark County, Ontario. He was still farming on the same lot in 1834. On 5 July 1837, John Armour Sr. received Crown Patent on West half Lot 2 Concession 2 Dalhousie Twp, 100 Acres. On 27 December 1858, John Armour and wife sold the lot to Samuel Boulton for $100.00. He arrived with a wife [Martha Scott] age 42, son John born about 1813 and a daughter [Beatrice] under the age of 12 years.
