"Alexander Kidd came to the Township of Dummer in 1831, where he took up 100 acres on Lot 5 Concession 2, which he cleared, fenced and improved and remained on until 1874. Mr kidd married Christie White of Scotland, by whom he had 11 children."

This village is situated on the boundary between the Counties of Peterboro' and Durham, in the township of Monaghan and Cavan about 7 miles from Peterboro"': The gravel road between Peterboro and Port Hope, passes through it. There is a very handsome Presbyterian Church, of brick, erected on the rising
ground overlooking the village. Population about 100.

She Was Born at Linlithgow, Scotland; They Came to Canada in 1815. Settled at Perth Co., Lanark in 1816.
In 1831 they removed to Dummer. Where they died, full of years and in hope of a glorious immortalia.
