Funeral for James L. Miller, who died yesterday, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Tees & Co. Funeral Chapel, 1459 Towers St. He was 76.
Born in Toronto, Mr. Miller, some years later, came to Montreal and worked 'for Archie Macfarlane & Co., hardware agents until 1919 when he joined the staff of Westmount Realties Co. of which he became director, a position he held until 1943.
For health reasons, he found it necessary to live in the Laurentians where later he became associated with the Chantecler Hotel, Ste. Adele. In 1952 he returned to Montreal to take up permanent residence. For many years a member of the Royal Victoria Lodge, A.F. & A.M., he was also, before his return to Montreal, a member of the United Church at Ste. Adele, and more recently of St. Andrew's United Church, Westmount, where he had been at one time an elder. He is survived by his wife, the former Marion Mills; a daughter, Margaret (Mrs. Matthew Manson) of Caux, Switzerland; and a brother, Thomas, of Montreal West.
