  	A pioneer of the Restigouche County lumber woods passed away at Soldiers Memorial Hospital here in the person of Simon Pollock, at the age of 70 years. He had been in failing health for some months and his death followed an operation performed several weeks ago, when he had been brought to Campbellton form his home at Glen Levit. Born in this district, Mr. Pollock had spent his life as a lumberman in winter and during the summer seasons had been connected with the Riparian Association form many years as a guide on the Restigouche salmon waters. He was a general favorite among residents of this country and was highly regarded by hundreds of visiting sportsmen who come here annually from points in the United States and Upper Canada. The funeral was held this afternoon from his home in Glencoe, with internment in the United Church cemetery at Flatlands. Many friends attended the obsequies.
