  	Death of Mr. Isaac Halpenny On Sunday Mr. Isaac Halpenny, of the 12th concession of Lanark, passed away to his reward, after a lingering illness, aged 64 years. The deceasesd was a well-known resident of the district, postmaster in the locality which bears his name - Halpenny -- and a man much esteemed by those who knew him. he was born in the township, and resided there continually all his lifetime. He was a township councillor for many years and latterly post master. He was married four times. By his first wife - Alice Brizell - seven children were born, John F., Calra, Richard, Isaac, Emiline, Albert and William, all living. He married a second time Jane Wilson, who only lived six months after marriage. He married again - Rebecca Chambly, of Drummond - and by this union three children were born, Nute, Violet, and Annie. Viollet has since died. Mary Moulton, of Lanark township, was the fourth wife of deceased, who survives him. Mr. Halpenny was a member of the English church and in politics a staunch Conservative. In the recent election Mr. Halpenny was the second to record his vote in his sub-division, although in very feeble health at the time. In health deceased was an active man, zealous in whatever he was engaged in. The funeral will take place to-morrow to Boland's cemetery. - CP Herald, Mar. 15th Perth Courier 18 Mar 1898
