  	Death claimed another of the city's pioneer residents Friday evening in the passing of Mrs. Ann Hood. The deceased was 80 years, 6 months and 8 days old at the time of her death, having been born in Weensland, Scotland, November 25, 1846. Mrs. Hood's maiden name was Ann Scott, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Scott. She came to Ontario with her parents in 1852 and was united in marriage to Andrew Hood in 1865. In 1905 Mr. and Mrs. Hood came to North Dakota, living at Devil's Lake for about a year. Moving to Jamestown in 1906, Mrs. Hood was a resident of that city until the time of her death. The deceased is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J. Halliday, Eugene Oregon, Miss Martha Hood and Mrs. W. C. McCauley of Jamestown [ND] and three sons J.S. Hood of Lengby, Minn., R.G. Hood of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Stewart Hood of Toronto and a nephew, R.S. McMorran of Lawton, North Dakota. Mr. McMorran lived with Mrs. Hood from the time of his infancy until he grew to manhood, his own mother, a sister of the deceased, having died when he was about one year old. Mr. Andrew Hood passed away at Devil's Lake in September 1924. Funeral services will be held at the Hood residence, 300 Seventh Ave. North (Jamestown) at 9 o'clock Sunday morning. Rev. Ward F. Boyd officiating. Interment will be at Harriston, Ontario. Miss Martha Hood will accompany the remains to that place, leaving on the noon train. Her death certificate lists that she died of erysipelas (following a head accident). A very old cup has been passed down in the family that has the words "A Gift From Leeds" painted on it. A family story is that Ann's brothers went back to visit Scotland and brought the cup back to her as a gift.
