Adams, Mass., September 28 James Renfrew of this town, a prominent cotton" manufacturer, one of the best, known men in Western Massachusetts, died suddenly of heart disease at his home here to - day. Mr. Renfrew was born near Bar Head, Renfrewshire, Scotland, in 1840. He came to America when 10 years of age. In the seventies the Renfrew Manufacturing Company was formed by Mr. Renfrew and several others. The company since then has operated the cotton mills at Adams, Maple Grove and Dalton. Mr. Renfrew was prominent in Masonic orders. A widow, a son and a daughter survive.
