  	896, Friday February 21, The Almonte Gazette, page 4 DEATHS At Almonte, February 13th, Jessie, eldest daughter of Mr Wm Snedden, aged 39 years 1896, Friday February 21,The Almonte Gazette, front page Miss Jessie Snedden Death for the first time entered the home of Mr and Mrs William Snedden, of Church street, on Thursday last and removed a loved one from the family circle. On that day Jessie, the eldest of the family, passed away after an illness of about two years. The trouble first began in the lungs and ended in a general break-up of the system. The deceased, who was in her 39th year, was of a very gentle and kind disposition, and was greatly esteemed by all who were acquainted with her. For nearly eighteen years she was a faithful teacher in St. John's Sabbath school. and her kind treatment of her pupils will long be cherished by them. During the latter part of her illness she suffered much but bore her sufferings with that patience and quiet resignation that bespoke the confident Christian. Before the service on Sabbath morning her pastor, Rev Mr. Mitchell, in referring to her death, said that it had seldom been his lot to stand by the deathbed of one who stood on the borders of eternity with such confident assurance of a happy entrance into the celestial home. The funeral on Sunday, not-withstanding the severity of the weather, was a more than ordinarily large one. The service was conducted by Rev Mr. Mitchell, assisted by Rev Grant. We join a sympathizing community in extending the deepest sympathy to the bereaved family.
