JAMIESON - In hospital, Almonte, Ontario, on Thursday, June 8th, 1978, M. Euphemia (Effie) McDougall, beloved wife of the late Lester Boyd Jamieson. Dear mother of Elizabeth Ilene (Mrs Gordon Russell), Kingston; Wilburn Boyd, Almonte; Beryl Louise (Mrs Carl Riddell), Cardinal. Predeceased by one son, Robert Lionel. Survived by eight grandchildren. Dear sister of Ruby (Mrs Ivan Rodgers), Perth; Gertrude (Mrs Norman Dowdall), Carleton Place, In her 84th year. Rested at the Kerry Funeral Home, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte, where service was held on Saturday at 3.30 p.m. Rev Robert McCrea officiating. Interment Auld Kirk Cemetery

Effie Jamieson
The death of Euphemia (Effie) Jamieson of Elgin Street, Almonte, occurred in the Almonte General Hospital on June 8, 1978. after a short illness. She was 83. Mrs Jamieson was born Euphemia McDougall in 1895 at Watson's Corners, the daughter of Hugh McDougall and his wife Elizabeth Fair, both deceased. She attended the Almonte United Church. She married Lester Jamieson on November 27, 1912 at Watson's Corners. Mr Jamieson predeceased his wife. Surviving are one son, Boyd of Almonte; daughters Ilene (Mrs Gordon Russell) of Kingston; Beryl (Mrs Carl Riddell) of Cardinal, and Sisters Ruby (Mrs Ivan Rodger) of Perth and Gertie (Mrs Norman Dowdall) of Carleton Place. Predeceased is a son, Lionel. The funeral was held from the Kerry Funeral home Almonte at 3.30 p.m. on June 10 to interment in Auld Kirk Cemetery. Rev Robert J. McCrea officiated. Pallbearers were Art Robertson, Larry Command, Ross Craig, and three nephews, Leonard, Bill and Mel Dowdall.
