- Anna May Hingey-Tuffnell, 83, of Banning, died peacefully on Aug. 7, 2012. She was born May 19, 1929 in Ontario, Canada to her parents Nelson and Edna McDonald, who are of Scottish and Irish decent. At 16, Anna met John Hingey, who had just returned from the war, at an ice skating rink. The couple married in 1947 and moved from Canada to California in 1963.
Anna worked at Delta Airlines as a Reservations Manager for 28 years before retiring in 1993. Her three greatest passions were family, gardening and travel.
Anna was preceded in death by her first husband, John Hingey; second husband, Ronald Tuffnell; son, Michael Hingey, and siblings, Irene Taure and Wibb McDonald.
Anna is survived by her sisters, Shirley Dewey and Gaye Andrus; son, John Hingey; daughters, Catherine Hill, Janice Blazek and Susan Costello; grandchildren, Andrea Scott, Heidi Fimbres, Brian Blazek, Jonathan Blazek, Dylan Hingey and Jason Hingey; and great grandchildren, Britany Scott, Kristen Scott, Liberty Scott, Jasmin Fimbres, Steven Fimbres and Victoria Fimbres.
Visitation and funeral services took place Aug. 14, 2012 at Life Point Church in Banning. Interment is at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier.
