James William Watt
On September 26th, 1969, James William Watt, aged 80, passed away in the GWM Hospital, Perth, after a week's illness. Death was caused by a coronary.
He was born at Playfairville, Ontario, to the late Mr. and Mrs William Watt.
On March 24th, 1915, at Lanark, Ontario, he married Agnes Isobel Geary, who predeceased him.
On September 20th, 1950, in St. John's Church, Perth, Ont., he married Mary Catherine Dillon, who lives to mourn his loss. He leaves one son Glen James, four daughters, mazie (Mrs Norman North), Edith, Loreen and Caroline; two brothers, John and Alden and one sister CAroline Hunt, Writsvile, Pa., grandchildren, Roberta Atkinson, Gelinda Atkinson and Leauna Howard. He was predeceased by two daughters, Olive Margaret and an infant; also a brother Hilliard and three sisters Lorene (Mrs. Budd), Mary (Mrs Harvey) and Eleanor (Mrs Olsen).
Mr Watt was a respected member of the community, always ready to lend a helping hand. For many years he operated a threshing machine, serving the surrounding district. In later life he confined his activitiess to farming, until ill health caused him to retire from active life.
The funeral took place on September 29th, at 2:00 pm from Youngs Funeral Home with interment at Playfair Cemetery, Playfairville. Rev. James B. Boy...
