Mr. Foster, who was 68 years of age, was a son of the late James Foster and his wife, Eliza Ann Morris. Of a family of sever, two brothers, Archie and Joseph, and two sisters, Annie and Sarah survive. Two older brothers, James and William, died a number of years ago. Deceased had lived all his life in this district. he was twice married, his first wife, the former Frances North, having predeceased him in 1904, leaving three children, Florence, Mrs. Fred Hanna of Perth; Ethel, Mrs Hugh McKinnon, Dalhousie Lake, and Wilbert J. Foster of Fallbrook. In 1906 the late Mr Foster married Catherine Donaldson, who survives with a family of ten, seven daughters and three sons. These are Ruby, Mrs Orley Scott; Matilda, Mrs George Keays, Fallbrook; Jessie, Mrs Wm. Hamgleton, Smiths Falls; Edith, Mrs Alvin Cameron, McDonald's Corners; and Pearl and Elizabeth of Perth. The sons are John, of Perth and Walter and Lloyd at home. The funeral took place on February 19th, Rev. H.C. Vaughan officiating. The text was taken from the Psalms "And Now, Lord, what is My Hope: Truly My Hope is Even in Thee." The hymns were "OGod Our Help in Ages Past, : Forever With the Lord," and "What a Fried We Have in Jesus." Pallbearers were John Blair, James Anderson, Tom North, Moses North, Robert Ashley (Ashby) and John Pratt. Mr. Foster's death occurred in the Great War Memorial Hospital, Perth following an illness lasting 11 weeks. Perth Courier 5 Mar 1937, pg 8
