Vincent E. Spess
Vincent E. Spess, 76, of Coplay, formerly of 534 Kurtz St., Catasauqua, passed away on Monday, May 30 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Claire B. (Gillespie) Spess. Born in North Catasauqua, he was a son of the late John C. and Emma S. (Keller) Spess. Mr. Spess was an accountant for the law firm of Noonan & Prokup, Allentown. Prior to that, he worked in the trust department of the former First National Bank, Allentown. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of American Legion Post 215, Catasauqua. He was also a member of the Lions Club, Catasauqua. He was a member of Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, Catasauqua. Survivors: With his wife are sons, Jeffrey L. of Wescosville, David P. of Lower Macungie; daughter, Diane S. of Barrasso of Westfield, N.J.; brothers, John A. of Northampton, Gerald F. of Catasauqua; sister, Geraldine, wife of Edward Ifkovits, of Anderson, S.C.; stepbrothers, Charles in Texas; grandchildren, Joshua and Courtney Spess and Christopher and Dana Barrasso. Services: graveside, 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 14 in Fairview Cemetery, West Catasauqua. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements by ODonnell Funeral Home, North Catasauqua. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, 212 E. Broad St., Bethlehem or to the church.
