- POINEAU, Dona M. 79, of Essexville and formerly of Reese went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday afternoon, October 6, 2011 at Covenant Healthcare - Cooper Campus after a very lengthy illness. She was born on August 21, 1932 in Saginaw, daughter of the late Samuel E. and Estella K. (Bierlein) Crampton. She married Edward Poineau on April 3, 1951 in Saginaw. Dona was devoted to her Lord, Family, and Church. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese along with volunteering with many different areas of the church and Ladies Aide. Dona had volunteered at the Bethesda Thrift Store in Saginaw for 25 years along with working in the Grandparents Reading Program at Reese Elementary School. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, always wanting to help whenever she could. Surviving in addition to husband Edward of 60 years, are her children, Timothy (Donna) Poineau of St. Augustine, Florida, Pamela Mercier of Bay City, Perry Poineau of Essexville; grandchildren, Shelli Poineau, Heather (Rick) Bartel all of Mesa Arizona, Derek Poineau of St. Augustine, Florida; sisters, Betty Loth, Ida Zwingman both of Saginaw; sister-in-law, Martha Wallace of Frankenmuth; special friend, Marion Knack of Munger and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, a grandson, Scott Poineau, brothers, William, George, Walter and Robert Crampton, sisters, Estelle Watters and Marcella Floeter all predeceased her. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese. Rev. Dr. Robert Bennett and Vicar Sean Willman will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Dona's family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw Street, Reese on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
