  	Brownlee, David Ellis Sgt (WAG) R86420. From Reston, Manitoba. Killed Aug. 28/42 age 21. #14 Operational Training Unit (Keep with the Pack), Hampden aircraft crashed. Please see Patry J.J. for casualty list and flight detail. Ex F/O. Bob Lumgair reported the following, "Dave and I were almost out of the gate heading for the locak pub when the tannoy (P.A. system) erupted with orders to do some circuit and bumps. I was supposed to go with Dave but went with another pilot. We would have been at the pub and out of reach for flying but Dave forgot his comb and had to back for it. He did have very nice hair and was a handsome guy. The night was foggy and we also crashed with F.S. Phillips (RAF) being killed." Sergeant Wireless Operator Air Gunner Brownlee is buried in the St. Nicholas Churchyard Extension, Cottesmore, Rutland, England.
