  	James Bell Last Easter Mr. James Bell, one of the pioneers of the township of Bathurst, was stricken down with a severe attack of lagrippe, and at his advanced age his constitution was not strong enough to withstand the illness, and he slowly became weaker and weaker until on Friday last his spirit took its flight to the great beyond. Deceased was born on the farm on which he lived all his life and on which he died, eight-two years ago, and in fact he was seldom away from the locality. Throughout his long life he was a model man and a good farmer, and none who knew him could say aught but good of him. He was born into this world when Bathurst township was almost one unbroken forest, and here as he grew to boyhood and manhood he assisted his parents to hew out a home for themselves, and he has lived through all the advancement of the township until now it is considered one of the banner townships of the county. A family of three sons and one daughter, in addition to his widow, survive, and to them is extended the sympathy of all their friends. The sons are James S. of Balderson, and John and William at home, and Mrs Alex. Keays, of Harper. The funeral took place on Monday and the remains were interred in Elmwood, a large number of relatives and friends being present. Thus is removed a stalwart citizen and another of the old residents of the section.
