- Robert was born in Perth, Ontario in 1836. He was married to Mary McConachie in 1859. They had six children; Alexander, Catherine, Hugh, Margaret, Robert and George. Robert's obituary only lists 5 children, Catherine was excluded. Robert died at Elphin, North Sherbrooke Township, Lanark County, on Oct.11,1899 at the age of 64.

Obituary - The Lanark Era - Oct.18,1899 -
In North Sherbrooke, Robert Burns Wilson, died Oct. 11th, aged 64 years. He was born in Perth, Ont., in 1836. At the age of 14, he moved to Humboldt, Wis., where he stayed for four or five years before returning to North Sherbrooke, where he married in 1859 to Miss Mary McConachie, also of North Sherbrooke. They had a family of five, all but one of whom are living; Hugh, on the homestead; Robert, at Rat Portage; George, at Plevna; and Mrs. James McKinnon, also at home. Burial on Friday last at Crawford's cemetery.
