  	[barber dodds marilyns.FTW] Howard, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Giffen, of Mt. Ida, died September 23, 1895, the result of the terrible injuries received one week  previous by a threshing machine. He was thirty eight years old He emigrated with his parents to Wisconsin in 1863 to their present farm in Mount Ida, living with them to the age of 20, when he went west, spending a portion of the time between Minnesota and South Dakota.
