  Notes	(Research):[barber dodds marilyns.FTW] Ross was born on the farm called the "80". Uncle Tom Barber, known as "Big Tom " lived on this farm in later years. Ross and his wife lived on the NW1/4 of Section 12 in Underwood. Later they had a smaller house built where their son, Robert, and his wife lived. They moved to Vesta when their daughter Frances and her husband, Callas Whitted, started farming. [barberhistorymuriels.FTW] Ross Adelbert was born October 13, 1881 on the farm in Vesta Township call the "80". Uncle Tom Barber (known as "Big Tom") lived on this farm in later years. Ross married Gertrude Hunt, September 5, 1906 . She was born October 26, 1880 in the Anoka area. They lived on the NW 1/4 of Section 12 in Underwood Township. Several years later, they had a smaller house built where son, Robert and his wife Gwen lived. Uncle Alec McGregor stayed with Ross while he helped build this house. Ross' children tell how loudly Uncle Alex snored -- so loud, that at times Ross would sleep on the davenport! After farming there about thirty years, they moved to Vesta, MN when their daughter Frances, and her husband, Callas Whitted started farming. Gertrude died October 27, 1958, while visiting her daughter, Ruth, in Minneapolis and is buried in the Echo Cemetery. Ross continued living in Vesta - - when he became ill, Dallas and Frances' son Robert and his wife moved into his home to care for him. At that time, Dallas and Frances' son, Robert and his wife lived on the farm. Ross died in 1963. He and Gertrude had four children. [barber dodds marilyns.FTW]
