Obituary - The Perth Courier - June 20, 1946 -
On June 4th, 1946, after a lengthy illness, there passed to her Eternal Home, Charlotte E. Miller, beloved wife of Wilfred A. Miller, of Loreburn, Sask. Mrs. Miller was born at Rideau Ferry, on September 19, 1886, the daughter of the late Peter Coutts and his wife, Margaret Halliday. She was married to Mr. Miller in 1911, and went with him to Loreburn, where they have since resided. She was a member of the Bonnie View United Church, where she served in many capacities, giving much of her time and interest to the work of the choir of which she was a valued member, and in recent years the organist.
Possessed of a happy, genial disposition and friendliness that endeared her to many, she and Mr. Miller were ever the first to contact newcomers to the community and entertain them in their home; to visit the sick and aged, and to further the interests of the young people of the neighborhood. An exemplary wife, mother and neighbor, her patience in suffering, Christian fortitude, and quiet acceptance of God's will for her, will remain an inspiration to all those who knew her best. Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Harold Forrest (Lillian), Mabel and Eva, and one son Ivan, lately returned from overseas, all of Loreburn; also a sister Mrs. Edward Joynt, of Lombardy, Ontario, a brother, Jack, having predeceased her in 1917; and two grandchildren, Patricia and Sandra Forrest. Following a short service at the home, the funeral was held from the Bonnie View Church; notwithstanding very inclement weather, many gathered to pay their last respects. Interment took place at the Loreburn Cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. Robert Sargeant, of Loreburn. A profusion of flowers bore silent tribute of many friends.
