  	Betty Miller McDonnell, 95, of Alpena died January 11, 2017, at her home. She was born April 20, 1921, in Alpena to the late Charles and Margaret (Gordon) Miller. On July 6, 1942, she married Bill McDonnell in Detroit. Surviving are her husband, Bill; 4 children, Elizabeth (Marvin) Hiske, Kathleen Ableidinger (Bill Lankheet), Margaret McDonnell (Michael) Hunter, Col. Dr. Howard "Mick" (Nancy) McDonnell; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were 5 sisters; 2 brothers; and one great grandchild, Ashleigh Kieliszewski. Cremation was handled by the Bannan Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at their summer home "Fakarwi". Memorial contributions in memory of Betty may be made to Hospice of Michigan, Alpena Senior Center, or a charity of your choice.
