- ANN JEANETTE ENGEL (nee Hunger): Ann J. Engel taught fourth grade in the Bay Village schools for 24 years until she retired in 1985. Afterward, she was a volunteer at St. John West Shore Hospital. Mrs. Engel, 70 of Bay Village, died Monday at University Hospitals in Clelveland.
She was born in Lorain and graduated from Lorain High School. She graduated from The Ohio State University and took additional courses at Kent State University.
Mrs. Engel and her husband Clarence E. "Skip" traveled to Western Europe, Britain, Australia, New Zealand, China Costa Rica and within the USA. She showed slides of many of her trips to her classes.
She was a member of Chi Omega Sorrority Aluminii, the Embroidery Guild, and Bay Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Engel is survived by her husband Clarence E. "Skip"; sons, Craig (wife Sue)of Willowick and Scott (wife Trudi) of Bay Village; grandmother of Adam and Sara Engel, and Mark Evan, sister of Marilyn White, brothers; Fred, Charles, Jack, and Tom Hunger.
A memorial service will be at 3PM Saturday at Bay Presbyterian Church, 25415 Lake Ave., Bay Village. Arrangements are being handles by Dostal Funeral Service.
