  	Lanark Era, Wed. September 22nd\\1897 D At Lanark, Friday, Sept. 17'h, Marion McLaren, aged 45 years. A daughter of the late John McLaren, a pioneer settler of the area. She had been living on the old homestead with her brother, James McLaren. Burial in Lanark cemetery. Marion McLaren, youngest daughter of John McLaren and Marion McIlquham, was born July 24, 1852 on the family farm at Pine Grove, Lanark Township, Ontario, Canada. Her father was the second generation of the family to work this farm and when he died in 1872 her brother James inherited the responsibility. Marion lived on the farm with her brother and his family until her death in 1897.
