MILLER-FERRIER (yellowed crumbling clipping with no date or source)
The home of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Ferrier of the Scotch Line was the scene of an interesting event on Thursday evening Sept. 17 th , the occasion being the marriage of their only daughter, Alice Whyte, to George Herbert Miller, a prosperous farmer of Glen Tay. Precisely at 6 o'clock, the bride, beautifully gowned in cream crepe de chene with bouquet of lily white asters and leaning on the arm of her father, emerged from the home under an archway of evergreen with asters and daffodils suspended, and took up her position on the green sward by the side of the groom. There in the presence of some half-hundred guests, Rev. Dr. Currie of Perth pronounced the words that made this happy young couple man and wife.
During the ceremony the bride was attended by her cousin, Miss Tena Drysdale, who was becomingly dressed in pink shadow crepe de chene and carried a bouquet of pink asters, while Miss Hattie Burke graciously acted in the capacity of maid of honour. The groom was supported by his brother Mervyn Miller. After the congratulations of the friends assembled had been showered on the newly-wed couple all repaired to the comfortable dining room where tables artistically decorated with beautiful flowers literally groaned under the burden of good things provided. Dinner ended, the health of the bride and groom was proposed and responded to, after which a most pleasant social evening was spent. The gifts of the occasion were numerous and costly consisting of cut glass, silverware, hand-painted china, etc and bespeak the popularity of the recipients.
Mr. and Mrs. Miller left on the early morning train for Renfrew and other northern points, the bride travelling in a suit of royal blue serge with black picture hat. On their return they will reside at Glen Tay.
