- McKINNON, Honourable Allan Bruce, P.C., M.C., CD. At Victoria, B.C., on Wednesday, September 19, 1990. Born in Canora, Saskatchewan, In 1917, he was raised In Rokeby and Kincaid, enlisted In the Royal Canadian Artillery in 1939, was commissioned In 1943 and served in Italy and Northwest Europe with the P.P.C.L.I. Retired from the military In 1965 and taught school in Victoria. He served on the Victoria School Board and was first elected to the House of Commons in 1972, representing Victoria until his retirement In 1988.
He was sworn of the Privy Council and appointed Minister ol National Defence and Minister of Veterans Affairs in 1979. He Is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth McKinnon and sons, Ian and Peter. Funeral service will be held In St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Victoria, B.C., on September 24, 1990, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Allan and Elizabeth McKinnon Scholarship Fund, University of Victoria, P.O.
