He was born at Lombardy, the son of Henry Houze and Bella Moodie. George was married at Oliver's Ferry on April 17, 1895 to Janet Richardson McLean, a 26 year old spinster from Oliver's Ferry. She was born at Oliver's Ferry, the daughter of Wm. J. McLean and Margaret Nichol. George and Janet were both Presbyterian in religion.
