The bride Is the daughter of Mrs. Thomas L. Wilson and the late Mr. Wilson of Woodlawn and the groom Is the son of Mrs. Robert S. Fulton and the late Mr. Fulton of Pakenham. Rev. Robert Strachan performed the wedding ceremony. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Helen Wilson. James H. Fulton, cousin of the groom, was best man. Walti-Lenrth Gown For her wedding, the bride chose a waltz-length gown of turquoise nylon over taffeta. The gown was fashioned with a shirred torso-length bodice, a full gathered skirt and shirred cap sleeves. Her small turquoise hat was decorated with rhlnestones and a volvet leaf design. Her accessories were In white. She carried a Cascade bouquet of pink carnations and lily-of-the-valley. Following theii wedding, the couple left on a trip to Western Ontario. Mr. Smith died Friday. He lived in Portland for 34 years and had been self-employed as a candy and tobacco jobber since 1922. He was born in LaCrosse, Wis., June 25, 1897. In 1941 he bought out the J. R. Smith company and operated under the name of H. S. Smith company until the fall of 1949. Then he and his son opened a warehouse in Beaverton called H. S. Smith & Son. He was a member of Northminster Presbyterian church, Roosevelt lodge No. 187, AF&AM; Portland chapter No. 97 of the Eastern Star, and Royal Arch Masons. Surviving are the widow, Phyllis M. Smith; four children, E. William Smith, Mrs. Jean Hansen and Mrs. Janet M. Gebhardt, Portland, and Marion Rapacz, San Mateo, Cal.; a brother, William L. The remains were brought to the Gough Funeral Home, Yale, and later taken to the home of his sister, Mrs. Kate Grimes, Second Street, where funeral services were held at 2:00 pm Tuesday. Rev. L. W. Mrs. Kiskadden yesterday received a message from her daughter, Maud Adams reading "Love to everybody. Wish very much I could be with vou." It is believed that the message announcng her grandmother's death was withheld from Miss Adams by her managers untll after Wednesday's matinee. Mrs, Julia Ann Banker Adams, grandmother of Maude Adams, the actress, died at 7:15 last evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Asenath Annie Adams Kiskadden, in the Smith apartments, 234 South Third East Street, at the age of 90 years. Death came as a result of advanced age. Mrs. Julia Ann Banker Adams was born in Plattsburg, New York May 6, 1826. In 1845 she accompanied by her parents to Illinois and lived in Nauvoo. A year later she married Barnaby Lathrop Adams a close friend of Brigham Young and later associated with him in the pioneer days in Salt Lake. He was with one of the first parties to come to Salt Lake. After a few months here, however, he returned to Nauvoo for his bride. With the exception of a few years spent on her ranch in Rigby, Idaho, and a visit to her granddaughter, Maude Adams, in New York in 1898, Mrs. Adams has resided here continuously. Mrs Adams is survived by three daughters Mrs. Kiskadden. Mr. Charles Crouch, the wife of the Rev. Mr Crouch of Missoula, Montana, and Mrs Julia Quayle, of Salt Lake. There are three surviving sons, D. H. Adams of Rigby Idaho;, H. D. and Joshua Adams of Salmon City, Idaho. There are in addition fifteen grandchildren, one of whom is Miss Maude Adams. Mrs. Adams has been in feeble health for several years. She has been almost constantly under the care of a physician Maude Adams opened last night in "Peter Pan" in New York. The news of her grandmother's death was kept from her until after the performance. An effort will be made to have the Rev. 5880 | Funeral services for Miss Elsie McLaren, sister of Mrs. Earl Butterfield of Hollister, will be held from the Williams' funeral chapel in San Jose at 11 o'clock this morning. Interment will be made in the local I.O.O.F. Cemetery at 1:30 this afternoon. Miss McLaren was well known in San Benito county. She was a charming girl, possessing a personality that won her many friends. Born in South Dakota in 1905, she came to Hollister with her family to live in 1916. She completed her elementary and high school education here, enrolling shortly afterward in Herald's Business college [actually "Heald Business College"] in San Jose. Her employment with the San Jose bank started immediately after she had completed her business course. She was a popular member of the bank staff and in San Jose and her sudden passing will be mourned by a legion of friends in the Garden City. 5881 | Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Teeson were held on Thursday, Dec. 14, 1961 from the First Congregational church with Rev. Paul Dahlstrom officiating. Interment was in the Kinkead cemetery. The casket bearers were Dr. H. J. Larson, F. M. Unumb, H. James Boyd, Douglas Oppel, Clifford Peterson, Sr., and Robert Carlisle. Honorary pallbearers were Orie D. Olson, H. B. Wussaw, C. Fred Hanson, Hugh B. Robards, Oscar G. Englund, and James O'Brien. Emma Teeson was born in Alexandria on Feb. 19, 1873, the daughter of Douglas County pioneer parents, Robert and Christine McLachlan Walker. She grew to womanhood in Alexandria where she graduated from Alexandria high school in 1891, being salutatorian of her class. She graduated from St. Cloud teachers college, then taught in Douglas county schools, and also in Drayton, N.D. She was confirmed in the Congregational church, and later served as Sunday school teacher and organist. She was united in marriage to Walter L. Teeson on June 20, 1900 and for a time resided in Montreal, Canada where her husband was a banker in the Bank of Canada, and later returned to Alexandria. Since 1934 Emma Teeson lived with her son, George, at Alexandria until suffering a stroke in May 1961, and was hospitalized since that date. During her lifetime she was active in church work and community affairs and was one of the charter members of the Alexandria Woman's Club. Mrs. Emma Teeson passed away December 11, 1961 at Our Lady of Mercy hospital at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 22 days. Surviving is one son George of Alexandria and two grandchildren. 5883 | Funeral services for William Fraser Campbell were held at the family home and at the Tilston United Church, on Saturday afternoon. Both services were conducted by Rev. Anthony Friebert. Mr Campbell had been in indifferent health for some time and passed away on Thursday at the age of 58 years and one month. He was one of the early settlers coming to the district in 1892 with his parents. His kindly disposition earned him a wide circle of friends and as a neighbor he was highly respected, this being shown by the presence of many friends following the Church and the floral remembrances that banked the casket. He was born in Lanark County, Ont., on 28 February, 1885 and on coming west he lived with his parents in the Reston district, later settling nort of Tilston. He married Elizabeth Cameron in December 1915, who survives him. Also four sons, Alex, Albert, William and Kenneth and two daughters, Jean of Winnipeg and Mrs mac Cairns of Tilson. He also has one brother, Peter, and a sister, Tena, both of Tilston. Pall bearers were: L. Graham, T. Gould, H. Long, W. Smith, W. Mare and J. R. Matheson. 5884 | Funeral Services held at Lengby for J. S. Hood John S. Hood, for 22 years a resident of Columbia Twp, Polk County, died at the Clearwater Hospital on Monday, November 3. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, November 6 at the home and in the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Lengby, with Rev. P. Onstad conducting the services. John Scott Hood was born in Huron County, Ontario, Canada, Dec. 4, 1870. He lived there until the age of 25. He then moved to Fargo, N.D. and began working for the Northern Pacific railway. He worked 13 years for the railway, the last position being that of conductor. He moved from Fargo to Jamestown, N.D. There he met and in 1907, married Miss Anna Peterson. To this union were born five children, Anna, Marion, William, Donald and John. After leaving the railroad, Mr. Hood moved to Harding County, S.D. where he took up a government claim. Leaving South Dakota in November 1919, the family moved to their present home in Columbia Township. Mr. Hood has been in ill health for a number of years, but until Oct. 24, when he was taken to the hospital in Bagley, he had been active in all his work and in community affairs. Mr. Hood is survived by his wife and five children and one grandchild, Margaret Ann Radke, three sisters, Miss Martha Hood, Mrs. Annie Halliday, and Mrs. Wm. McCauley, all of Devils Lake; two brothers, Stewart of Montreal, Canada and George of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. A cousin, Robert McMorran of Lawton, N.D. who grew up with the family was especially dear to Mr. Hood. Mr. Hood was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church at Lengby for a number of years. Darnell Jr., plantation manager, were held at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood Thursday afternoon at 2 o' clock. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington. Mr. Darnell died Wednesday morning at his home in Minter City. He was 53. A former resident of Tchula, he had managed the Equen Plantation near Minter City for the past 13 years. 5886 | Funeral services were held here at St. Mary's church on September 21 over the remains of Mrs. Dan Walker who died Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the home of her daughter, in North Dakota. Elizabeth Lehan Walker was born in Quincey, New York, June 1860. Last September, Mrs. Walker was operated upon for cancer at Spokane, Washington and had apparently recovered until six weeks ago. Reoccurrences of the malady caused her to fail rapidly until death brought relief. In 1876 she came with her parents to Leaf Valley, and lived on a farm there four years. She was married to Dan Walker and they made their home in Alexandria. To this union three children were born. Rev. Fr. Renner officiated at a requiem mass and after the impressive church services delivered a very appropriate sermon. Miss Gilpin was born in Alexandria on June 3, 1874, he daughter of Joseph and Sarah Gilpin. She attended the Alexandria high school and received further education at Moorhead Teachers college and Carleton college. Following graduation she taught school at Fertile, Minn., Lakota and Wahpeton, N.D., and Hopkins. She retired from teaching some years ago and since has lived with her sister, Mrs. Walter Fredenburg, in Minneapolis. Charles Kennedy pastor of the Presbyterian church, will officiate. Burial will be made in Greenwood cemetery. Mrs McPherson, who before her marriage was Elizabeth Ann Hillock, was born Oct. 22nd, 1865, in Orangeville, Ontario, and married R.A. McPherson March 15, 1893, in Carsonville. Three years later they moved to Sandusky where they have made their home continuously. Mrs. McPherson was a member of the Sandusky Presbyterian church for many years and had taken an active part in the church work until recent years. For many years she taught Sunday school classes and was a member of the board of trustees. 5889 | Funeral Ship Is Bringing Body Of War Hero Home Mr. and Mrs. Ray Miller, 961 Pipestone street, have been notified that the body of their son, S/Sgt. Marion Ray Miller, who was killed in action June 18, 1944 in Warmingster, Eng., is enroute to the United States aboard the Army transport James E. Robinson. Following his death he was temporarily buried in a military cemetery in Brookwood, Eng. A liason pilot with the 12th Observation Squadron of the Army Air Corps, Sgt. Miller had completed many dangerous missions over Europe. According to news received by his parents, at the time of his death he was on a mission to France when his plane struck a high tension wire which set fire to the plane. Going overseas two years after his enlistment on March 26, 1940, he received his training at Fort Knox, Ky., Esler Field, La., and Fort Dix, N.J. Sgt. Miller was born Oct. 25, 1918 in Linton, Ind., and came with his parents to Benton Harbor at the age of 11. After attending Benton Harbor high school he was employed at the Benton Harbor Malleable Industries and the Frost Gear & Forge compnay at Jackson, Mich. Survivors include his parents, one brother, Stanley Miller, of Benton Harbor; eight sisters, Mrs. Ruby Secrest, Bedford, Ind., Mrs. Dorothy Bellenger, and Mrs. Rosemary Mensinger, Benton Harbor, Mrs. Nina Jeschke, St. Joseph, Mrs. Phyllis Roberts, Ann Arbor, Beverly, Donna and Joyce at home, and seven nieces and two nephews. 5890 | Funeral Sunday of Late Mrs. Jarvie The funeral of the late Margaret Jarvie, deceased wife of Mr. William Jarvie, took place Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the family residence, Nicol street, services being conducted at the home and graveside by the Brethren. *********** Ther was a large attendance of friends to pay their last respects to the deceased, the pallbearers being Messrs. John Adams, A. Stewart, W. Blackstaff, Wm. Brown, Jas. McMeakin and A. Waugh, funeral arrangements being in the hands of Mr. H. McAdie. The death occurred at the family residence, 224 Nicol street this morning of Margaret Jarvie, wife of Mr. William Jarvie, a residdent of Nanaimo for the past fifteen years. The deceased was a native of Ayrshire, Scotland, aged 44 years and was well and favorably known by a large circle of friends. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Joseph and Alexander and four daughtyers, Mary, Madge, Bessie and Isabel, all residing at home.
