Few men were better known throughout this section than deceased ? he having been prominently before the public as proprietor of the "Wilson House" for ten or twelve years ? and his geniality and goodheartedness won him many warm friends. Years ago he possessed an iron constitution, but, being his own worst friend, he took little care of it, for some time past had been a physical wreck. He was but 44 years and 10 months old at the time of his death. The funeral, which took place to the 8th line cemetery on Monday, was largely attended, and as the cortege moved along expression of deep sympathy and regret were heard on all sides. A widow and three children are left. Inscription Side 1: Charles Patterson died April 22, 1894 Aged 80 years. His wife Jane Lochead Feb. 15, 1903 Aged 88 years.
