1951 | Alexander was married to Catherine Buchan. Ferguson. He was born near Elphin, Oct 10, 1846. His first wife was Catherine Buchanan (Buchan), and his second, who survives him with four daughters, was the former Agnes Geddes. One son died in infancy and the eldest daughter, wife of Duncan Ferguson, jr., died a few years ago. The survivors are; Mrs. John McDougal, and Mrs. James Gilmour, of Elphin; Mrs. John Sergeant, of Harper, and Tena at home. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. McIntyre, of Dalhousie Lake. 1952 | Alexander was the son of Hugh McDonald and Agnes McKinnon. He was born about 1867 in Fallbrook, Bathurst, Township, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. His last known residence in 1909 was Cobalt, Ontario, Canada. According to his sister Elizabeth's obituary in June, 1950, see was the last surviving family member. 1953 | Alexander Watt came to Canada (1820) as a single man. Isobel Foster, his great granddaughter recounts a faamily tradition which says that Alexander went to the USA to work for a time soon after his arrival in Canada. He is said to have met and married a girl there. He brought her back to Lammermoor but she died in childbirth. It is believed that she is buried on the farm, alongside her husband and his second wife, Euphemia Gibson, who was a daughter of neighbour Robert Gibson of this same emigration society. 1957 | Alice Miller After a long illness, Alice Whyte Ferrier, widow of Herbert G. Miller, entered into rest March 15, 1974, at the Four Winds Private Hospital, Perth. She was born October 21, 1888, the only daughter of John F. Ferrier and Alice Poole, of the Scotch Line. On September 17, 1914, she was married to Herbert G. Miller of Manion who predeceased her in 1961. They resided at Tayside Farms, Glen Tay, until 1956, when they retired to Perth. Mrs Miller was a faithful member of St Andrew's Presbyterian Churh, a member of the Women's League and a Life Member of the Women's Missionary Society. For many years she was an active member of the Peerth Fair as an Associate Director in the ladies' division. Left to mourn her death are one son, Ernest, Glen Tay; two daughters, Irene (Mrs G. Selland), St Catharines, and Irma (Mrs H. Knight), Scarborough; seven grandchildren, Diane (Mrs. Don Duncan), Nancy (Mrs. John Chenier), John and Ruth Miller, Douglas Selland and Janet and Sandra Knight, and one great grandson, Scott Duncan. Surviving also are two brothers, Harold P. Ferrier, Toronto, and G. Mervyn Ferrier, Perth. She was predeceased by four brothers, Ernest, Lloyd, Leslie and Alex Ferrier. The funeral service, held at the Blair Funeral Chapel on March 18, 1974, was conducted by the Reverend R.J. Gillanders. Interment was in the family plot at Elmwood Cemetery. 1958 | Alice Raymond, 67 BUFFALO MARCH 25, 1931-APRIL 13, 1998 Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Monticello, for Alice L Raymond, 67, formerly of Monticello, who died Monday at Park View Care Center. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel in Monticello. Alice Raymond was born in Redwood Falls to Fred and Gertrude (Homier) Sonnichsen. She married Joseph Raymond on Nov. 4, 1951, at Wood Lake. They moved to Monticello about eight years ago, and she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband; threes sons and three daughters; three brothers and three sisters.
