    Charles H. Rintoul
As a surprise came the news of the death last evening, about 5.30 o'clock, of Mrs Charles H. Rintoul of Ramsay. Mr Rintoul has been troubled with his heart for some time, and had not done any work since New Year's, but no such sudden break-up was anticipated, and his demise came as a shock. The deceased was born in Darling township 57 years ago, being a son of the late John Rintoul, one of the pioneer Scotch settlers. Twenty-two years ago, April 29th, he was married to Jessie Taylor, and died upon his wedding day. Mrs Rintoul with one daughter and four sons, survive. Five years ago the family removed from Darling to Ramsay, Mr Rintoul purchasing the Hilliard farm, adjoining Mr Alex McLean. In politics Mr Rintoul was a Liberal, in religion a Presbyterian. He was a quiet, unassuming man, industrious and enterprising, and much esteemed by all who knew him. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon to the 8th line cemetery. The bereaved wife and children have the sympathy of many friends in their trouble.

Charles married Jessie Jane Taylor in 1899. Jessie was born on 29 May 1866 in Hopetown, Lanark Twp, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; died on 24 Oct 1946 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. Mrs Charles H. Rintoul
At the Rosamond Memorial Hospital on Thursday October 24th there passed peacefully away Jessie Jane Taylor, wife of the late Charles Henry Rintoul. Deceased had been in failing health for sometime and although the end was expected it came as a great shock to her loved ones. Born at Hopetown, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late John Taylor and Janet Browning. In 1899 she was united in marriage to Charles Henry Rintoul, of Tatlock, who predeceased her on their wedding anniversary, April 29th, 1912. In 1907 Mr and Mrs Rintoul and family moved from Tatlock to Ramsay to a farm then owned by the late Benjamin Hilliard where her two sons Alva and John now reside. In 1928 Mrs Rintoul moved to Carleton Place where she resided until the time of her death. The largely attended funeral was held from Fleming Bros Funeral Home Lake Avenue west and services were conducted by her minister Rev Donald Munroe of Memorial Park Church, assisted by Rev T. M. McCord. Interment was made in the family plot at the Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte. The pallbearers were nephews of the deceased: John McKay, Wm Munroe, Wm Rintoul, Alex Munroe, Archie Taylor and Roy Taylor. She leaves to mourn her loss four sons, John Alva and Charles of Carleton Place; Archie of Springfield, Mass., and one daughter Margaret of Toronto. A daughter Elsie predeceased her in 1914. The beautiful flowers were a token of the esteem felt for Mrs Rintoul by a large circle of relatives and friends. Among them were pieces from Carleton Place neighbours; Ramsay neighbours; Community Feed Stores, East Hampton, Mass.; Ontario Hog Producers' Assn; Employees Wilcox Canadian Ltd, the North Lanark Co-Operative, Almonte. Mrs Rintoul was keenly interested in agriculture and took a great interest in life on the farm. She was a successful exhibitor at local fairs and at the Central Canada Exhibition, Ottawa.
