    Sept. 7 - Pvt. George Moreton, 33, Lorraine, was killed in action in France Aug. 11, according to a War Department telegram received by his wife, Marian ?b?Stillman ?/b?Moreton. Pvt. Moreton was inducted into the Army on Nov. 27, 1943. Arriving in England early in June (he went) to France with an infantry division. In his last letter to his wife, dated July 27, and received by her Aug. 15, he did not refer to the war. He was the first Lorraine man killed in action in this war.
    He was born in Bilston, England, Jan. 5, 1911, the youngest of five children of the Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Moreton. He came to Lorraine when about a year and a half old, with his parents, his father having been assigned as pastor of the Lorraine Methodist Church.

    George married Marian Anabel Stillman on 20 Mar 1937.
