    ATHENA?- Roy G. Woodworth, 86, of Athena, died Monday, July 26, 2010, at Park Manor in Walla Walla, Wash. Services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010. Graveside Service will be at 1 p.m. at the Athena Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 1:30 p.m. at the Athena Baptist Church.

    Roy was born Dec. 2, 1923 in western Washington to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Woodworth. His mother died at an early age and his father remarried. He moved to Montana and went to school where he completed the seventh grade in Summers, Mont.

    After he left home, he traveled throughout the area following the rails. He described himself as a "hobo." He did various types of work, one time working as a sheepherder.

    In June 1968, he walked on to the Barnett-Rugg Ranch in Adams, where he was hired to work the pea harvest. He continued as a ranch hand and remained there until his retirement earlier this year.

    He enjoyed fishing, reading and bowling. Though never married, he endeared himself to several families who included him in their activities and celebrations.

    He faithfully attended an Assembly of God church in Pendleton for several years and then the Athena Baptist Church in Athena in his later years.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, a brother and a sister. He is survived by his step-mother, Jane Woodworth of Camas, Wash., three step-nephews and a step-niece and several other nephews and nieces.

    Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donator's choice in care of the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater, OR 97862.

    Lloyd G. Woodworth, 73, retired steam engineer, died Saturday, June 9, at his home. Services were held Tuesday, June 12, at Brown's Stoller Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Sutherlin officiating. Interment was in Fern Prairie Cemetery.
    Born in Allen, Neb., Sept, 4, 1899, he had lived in the Camas area 14 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lakeside, Mont. He is survived by his wife, Jane Alice, at home; son, Roy Woodworth of Lakeside, Mont.; daughter, Mrs. Alice Jane Kimes of Kalispell, Mont.; 12 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services for Lloyd G. Woodworth, 73, who died in Camas Saturday, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at
    Brown's Stoller Memorial Chapel in Camas. A resident of Camas for the past 14 years, Woodworth lived on Rt. 1. He was born Sept 4, 1899 in Allen, Neb. A retired steam engineer, he was a member of United Methodist Church of
    Lakeside.
    Survivors include his wife, Jane Alice, at home; a son Roy Woodworth of Lakeside, Mont.; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Jane Kimes of Kalispell, Mont.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Rev. Calvin Sutherlin is to officiate at the funeral services. Interment will be in the Fern Prairie Cemetery.
