Forest Peter Hanes, son of Peter and Estella Hanes, was born July 24, 1907 on the family farm home near Wells, Kansas and passed away at his home, the same site as his birth place, on November 25, 1977. This farm was his home for his entire life.
On March 7, 1935 he was united in marriage to Myrtle Isabelle Yonally. Their home was blessed by the birth of two daughters who became the object of a proper parental pride and a source of joy and inspiration to Forest.
His occupation as a farmer and stockman gave him opportuniy to express his love for the soil and to enjoy the beauties of nature.
