    Both his marriage register and Death Registration record his birthplace as Bathurst but the First Presbyterian Register shows his parents at Bathurst in 1832 and 1834; Burgess in 1836; Elmsley in 1839 and back in Bathurst Twp. in 1841 and 1843.

    The late Mr. Fisher was born in Balquidder, Perthshire, Scotland, in the year 1804, and came to this country in the year 1818. He was one of the oldest settlers in this section, and was universally respected and esteemed by his neighbours and acquaintances.

    He was married first, March 23rd, 1841 at First Presbyterian Church, Perth, Lanark Co. by the Rev. William Bell to Catherine Hill (c1822-1855) and second October 22nd, 1855 [un-sourced) at Lanark Co. to Sarah White (c1828-1881). His obituary in the Christian Guardian July 23rd, 1879 records his death at 3rd line, Baltimore [Bathurst Township].
