    Died:
On Friday morning, Nov. 28th, after a long period of illness, death came quietly and claimed Mrs. Edgar Chaplin of Glen Tay. Her maiden name was Laura Jackson, a daughter of the later Oliver and Eleanor Jackson of Glen Tay, where she was born 35 years ago. She was married in 1909 to Mr. E. Chaplin, of Glen Tay, where they have resided ever since. Deceased leaves to mourn her loss her sorrowing husband and three young children, Muriel, Helene and Gertrude, the youngest only six years old. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Walter Pegg, of Lanigan, Sask., and Mrs. Fred Bell, of Perth, also four brothers, Robert of third line of Bathurst, William of Capreol, Henry of Portland, Oregon, and Montague, of San Diego, Cal. One sister, Mrs. Hillas Williams, of Toronto died 12 years ago. Deceased was well and favourably known in Perth and surrounding country having lived at Glen Tay nearly all her life and always held in the highest esteem. Although a public spirited woman, conversant and interested in all that was of vital importance in public and community life, she was seldom found out of her home and was a devoted mother and wife. Many beautiful floral tributes were sent by sympathizing friends. Wreaths: Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Jackson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Chaplin and family, Loyal Orange Lodge, Independent Order of Oddfellows; cross, Mrs. J. A. Stewart and Miss Henderson; sprays, Misses McLaren and Farrel, Mrs. Rathwell and Mrs. Crawford, F. Girdwood, W. Douglas, A. Code, A. Rodgers, and J. Gamble. Funeral service was conducted at the home on Sunday, Nov. 30th, by Rev. J.H. Miers, who spoke in a touching manner (illegible). Interment was made in Elmwood Cemetery. The pallbearers were Messrs. F. A. Girdwood, W. Douglas, A. Code, A Rogers, H.. Mathers and J. Gamble. The sorrowing husband and family have the deepest sympathy of the whole community.
