    Funeral for the Late James Reid on Wednesday

    James Reid of 455, 3rd Street S. passsed away Monday, May 2nd in the St. Joseph Hospital. He was in his 80th year. Born at Middleville, Ont., Jan 1st, 1875 he was a carpenter in early life. He has been a resident of this district since 1896. His wife, Susan Wesley Cameron Reid predeceassed him on February 18th, 1942.

    He is survived by three sons and four daughters.

    Resting at teh Brown Funeral Home for service in the Chapel at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 4th, Rev. W.T. Brady of Keewatin will officiate and burial will be in the Lake of the Woods Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Evan Campbell, Harry Hall, Don Peloquin, Bill Kerr, Jack Bodger and George Wilson.

    Mrs. S.W. Reid Called to Rest

    Funeral services were held this afternoon for Mrs Suanah W. Reid, 67, who died Wednesday morning at Kenora General lHospital after a brief illness. Dr. R. L. McTavish conducted the service and burial was in the family plot at Lake of the Woods Cemetery. The service was from the chaple of Tackaberry & Son's funeral parlours.

    Mrs Reid was born in Cantonto, Ont., July 7th, 1874. She came wests to this district about 44 years ago, living for a number of years in Keewatin before coming to reside in Kenora. Held in high esteem by many friends in the community for her friendly nature, Mrs. Reid will be sadly missed by all wh o knew her. She was a member of the United Church.

    Surviving are her husband, three sons and five daughters. The sons are Cecil, Arnold and Ernests. The daughters are Mrs H. Hives, Mrs F. Iriam, Mrs S. Alcock, and Bertha, all of Kenora, and Mrs. N. Wiebe, of Steinbach, Man.

    A sister, Mrs. R. Simpson, resides at Folger Station, Ontario, and a brother, Philip Cameron, lives in Schumacher. Fourteen grandchildren also survive.

    On Saturday, Mrs. Matthew Reid of Clyde Forks, mother of Messrs. Walter and David Reid of this place was transformed from mortal to immortal. Deceased was a daughter of the late Matthew Baird of Lanark township and a cousin of Andrew Baird now reeve of that township. She was born on the 5th Concession of Lanark on May 24, 67 years ago. After her marriage, she resided on the 6th Concession Lanark until the death of her husband which occurred about five years ago when she went to live wither daughter Mrs. Robert Campbell of Clyde Forks. 18 or 19 yeas ago she was afflicted with cancer from which she suffered though at first but slightly until her death. For the last 16 weeks of her life she was confined to her bed and death was a welcome release from her afflictions. She leaves a family of nine?the three mentioned above and Alexander of Percy, Assa(?); Daniel, James and Peter of Rat Portage; Harry at Eganville; and John at Caldwell's Mills. The funeral took place on Monday morning from the residence of her daughter Mrs. Campbell to the Presbyterian Cemetery at Middleville. Era, Jan. 18
