    Died:
Edward Alexander Fraser was born July 23, 1882 in Coldbrook, Nova Scotia; the sixth child of Alexander and Agnes Ogilvie Fraser. He arrived in Billings, Montana as a child with his family in 1885, and attended Billings public schools. During the 1890's, handsome and polite Eddy Fraser was a very popular figure in the social scene of the young city of Billings, Montana. He graduated from Billings High School, and joined his brother James G. Fraser in the family firm of A. Fraser & Co. as a livestock buyer. He also served his father as a stenographer for the United States Commissioner's office for several years. Ed developed a cattle and sheep ranch east of Billings, above Pryor Creek.
Ed Fraser married Blanche Suydam in 1907, but the marriage ended in divorce with no issue. For most of his life, Ed was a contented bachelor.
With the death of his brother Jack in 1939, Ed assumed total responsibility for the firm of A. Fraser and Co.
On January 15, 1943 Ed Fraser collapsed while loading sheep at the railroad yard in Laurel. Despite the quick arrival of expert medical assistance, he was pronounced dead at the scene. It was noted at the time that he died doing exactly what he most loved to do.
Ed Fraser was survived by a sister, Nettie Tompkins of Billings.

Edward married Blanche Murtie Suydam in 1907. Blanche was born in 1882; died in 1959. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
