    Selden E. Cass
    The following obituary will be of interest to older resldents of Albany and vicinity, as Mr. Cass was born and spent his early boyhood days here.

    Selden Elwin Cass, a resident of Chelmsford Centre, for the post 28 years and very well known In Lowell. at the Lowell General hospital Sunday, March 14. Mr. Cass was in the butter and egg business, both wholesale and retail, for many years In Lowell. He was a natlve of Vermont, coming to Lowell when a young man.

    He is survived by his wife, Mary Eliza (Gilmour) Cass; one daughter. Marion E. Cass; one brother, Melvin W. of Tyngs-boro; a sister, Mrs. Viola Harvey of Lower Cabot, VT; also several nieces and nephews. Mr. Cass was a member of the Meridian lodge, A.F. and A.M. of Craftsbury, also Chevalier Middlesex, No. 2. Knights of Pythias, of Lowell.

    Funeral services for Mr. Cass were held Wednesday afternoon. March 17. Rev. Charles H. Ellis, pastor of the Chelmsford Center Baptist church, conducted the services. There were many relatives and friends present, many coming from out of town. There were many flowers. Harry Hopkins, who sang at the funeral of Mr. Cass' brother 28 years ago, and was a family friend for many years, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Face to Face". The bearers were Carlton P. Gardner, Robert Erdis, Francis Moran and Irving Rich. Burial was in the Pine Ridge cemetery, Chelmsford, where REv. Mr. Ellis read the committal prayers.

    Elizabeth D. Gilmour.

    Mrs. Elizabeth D. Gilmour passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, at the home of her son, R. M. Gilmour, after an illness of several months. The deceased was born in Cumbernauld, Scotland, July 8, 1848, and was the widow of the late Arthur Gilmour of Glover.

    She had lived in Barton nearly 25 years and was a woman of sterling character and had many friends here and in Glover, her former home. Three children survive her, Elizabeth, who is Mrs. John P. Urie, and Robert M. Gilmour of this place, and Mary, who is Mrs. Selden E. Cass of Chelmsford, five grandchildren and one great grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Marion Nelson of Barton, and two brothers, William and Robert Miller of Glasgow, Scotland. The funeral was held Monday afternoon and was largely attended, the Rev. C. C. Salisbury officiating. Burial was in the Andersonville cemetery in Glover near her old home.
