    Sergeant - Died, at North Sherbrooke on the 11th Dec., after a severe illness, Mr. John Sergeant, in the 43rd year of his age. He leaves a wife and eight children to mourn their loss.

    Sophia was born in Ireland in 1804, the daughter of William Calvert. She was married to Robert Sargeant (Siergison) and they settled in North Shebrooke Township, Lanark County, Ontario. Robert remarried after Sophia's death. He died in 1897 and is buried with his 2nd wife, Sarah McFarland, in St. Paul's Anglican Church cemetery at Zealand, Frontenac County, Ontario. Sophia and Robert had a family of six :
    - William, married Janet Wilson.
    - George, married Mary McDonell.
    - Alice, married John McDonnell.
    - John, married Deborah Rutherford.
