    Prominent Business Man and Republican, of Wilkes-Barr, Passes Away.

    Wilkes-Barr, Pa., July 25. - Hon. Charles A. Miner, ex-president of the State Miller's Association and one of the most prominent citizens of Northeastern Pennsylvania died at his home in this city at an early hour this morning of a complication of diseases, aged 73. He was a member of the lower house of the Legislature from 1875 to 1880, and always took an active interest in the welfare of the Republican party.
    Last year he was a cnadidate from the First Legislative District (Wilkes-Barr city) in the interest of Judge Pennypack for governor and after a hard contest was elected although his opponents, the friends of John P. Elkin, carried the light into the convention which finally seated Miner. The deceased was identified with banks, corporations and many other enterprises.

    Charles married Bertha Fanny Shepherd. Bertha was born on 20 May 1878 in England; died on 6 Aug 1964 in Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan, United States; was buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan, United States. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
