    Fitting tribute was paid William Francis Heffron at funeral services held in Lanark recently. Mr, Heffron died in the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital at the age of 91 following an illness of several weeks.

    Born In Fallbrook in 1864 he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Heffron and spent most of his life in Lanark County. During his life-time he engaged in several occupations but he is chiefly remembered as a farmer and lime-kiln operator. From his lime-kiln on a farm along the Lanark-Playfair Road he supplied lime for many of the stone buildings In Lanark, Perth and surrounding community. Mr. Heffron was a member of the United Church.

    About five years ago he moved to Kitchener to make his home with his daughter, Miss Elsie Heffron. He was married in Balderson in 1883 to the former Martha Clark who predeceased him several years ago. He is survived by two sons, Ernest and Frank of Kitchener; three daughters, Mrs. Donald Camerson (Lillian), of Balderson; Miss Mabel Heffron of Toronto and Miss Elsie Heffron of Kitchener; eight grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A private funeral service was held at the Keffer Funeral Home, Kitchener, by Rev. O. P. Hossie, of Trinity" United Church, Kitchener. The body was removed to the Young Funeral Home, Lanark, where public funeral services were held with Rev. R. J. McNaught of Lanark officiating. Burial was in the family plot of Lanark Village Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wilson Creighton, John Mather, Lloyd North, Armour Graham, Wilfred McLaren and Gordon Caldwell.

    Notes:

    Dad's database had Mary Ann. Mom's notes, based on Grandma's notes indicate 'Elizabeth' Gillespie, from near Brockville, ON. It also indicates that they were married in Caleraine, Ireland and later lived in Pennsylvania where Grandma's Grandmother had a large dry goods store. It was thought they were United Empire Loyalists. Her Grandfather had been in the American War, and subsequently was in poor health and died at age 49 of lung trouble.
