    (Research):from Judy Bradley bradleyrbjb@optusnet.com.au , Feb 6, 2023
This is my uncle Leslie William (Les) Jackson a larger than life resident of the Milora area and son of Caroline Jackson (n?e Boyle).
Les was caretaker of the 'dip' a facility used by residents of the area to dip their cattle for ticks. The cattle would be herded into the dip, a sloping concrete ramp going down to a depth that would immerse the cattle in the water which contained the products to kill the ticks but not harm the cattle.
The yards to the dip were kept locked and any farmer wanting to use it would have to come up to our farm and obtain the key. They were charged per head of cattle for the use which went into the cooperative to purchase the dip mixture.
I could write more on this but unfortunately have to get moving for school pick up etc. let me know if this is of interest please.
    Regards
    Judy
