    The funeral of John Brownlee, who died on the 15th instant, took place yesterday to Kars. The deceased died of typhoid after an illness of about three weeks and leaves a widow and four sons, Edwin J., Winnipeg; J. Russell, Thomas A., and Anthony J., of Ottawa; also one brother, James, Ottawa; and three sisters, Mrs. Wm. McCullough, Miss Elizabeth, of Manotick; and Mrs. Wm. Eastman, of Ottawa.
    The late Mr. Brownlee was 65 years of age and has spent the last five years in Ottawa. Previous to coming to the city the deceased resided in the county of Carleton, where he was one of the best known residents. The deceased was an Anglican in religion and attended [????] Church. Among the floral offerings are: Pillow from the family; crass, Mr. and Mrs. McDiarmid; anchors, brother and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. W. Bailey and Mrs. and Maj.
