SOMERVILLE, Donna Audrey Suddenly, in hospital, Perth, on Thursday morning, June 9th, 2011, at the age of 60. Born in Perth, Ontario on September 9th, 1950, Donna was the dearly loved daughter of Donald and Rose Somerville (nee McPhee), of Perth. Cherished sister to Dale (Irene), of Brockville, and Lindsay (Barbara), of Perth. She will be sadly missed by her soul-mate and best friend, Garry Campbell, also of Perth. Aunt Donna, will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by her nephews; Martin, David (Mary Jane), and Thomas, as well as her grand-nieces; Lorrana, Jessica, and Emilee. To honour Donna's wishes, her funeral services will remain private. Cremation has taken place, with a private interment to be scheduled at Greenwood Cemetery, Middleville, at a later date. For those wishing, donations to Middleville Greenwood Cemetery, would be appreciated. Donna's funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the O'Dacre Family Funeral Home, Perth, 613-267-3082.

Dad passed away peacefully, in hospital, Perth, with his loving family by his side, on Monday, September 7, 2015. Donald Argyle Somerville, in his 90th year. He was predeceased by his parents John and Ida Somerville, and by his daughter Donna, as well as his siblings: Jack, Isabelle, Florence and Blanche.
Don was the beloved husband for over 66 years to Rose (nee` McPhee), of Perth, and much loved and respected father to Dale (Irene) Somerville, of Addison, and Lindsay (Barbara) Somerville, of Perth.
Cherished grandfather to Martin, David (Mary Jane), and Thomas, great grandfather to Loranna (Kyle), Jessica (Steve), and Emilee, and great-great grandfather to Savannah and Carsen.
Our father worked as a trucker for Reis Equipment in Carp, for many years and loved to work on small gas engines as a hobby, and he travelled all over Eastern Ontario, proudly demonstrating his antique gas engines at community fairs and exhibits, a passion that he shared with his sons and grandsons.
To honour Don's wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to Greenwood Cemetery, on Saturday, September 26, at 11:00 am for a graveside service to honour him. A reception will follow at Middleville Community Hall, and all are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Greenwood Cemetery or to Perth Community Care Activity Centre, would be appreciated.

Our loving mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully at Perth Community Care Centre, on Tuesday, November 17, 2015.
Eva Rose Somerville, of Perth, at the age of 86.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald Argyle Somerville, in 2015, and by her much loved daughter, Donna, her parents, Martin and Lillian McPhee as well as her siblings; Ernest, Allen, Herbert, Merle, Sophia, Florence, Dorothy, Doris, June, Lila and Ferne.
Cherished mother to Dale (Irene), of Addison and Lindsay (Barbara), of Perth, and loving grandmother to her 3 grandchildren, Martin, David (Mary Jane), and Thomas, her 3 great grandchildren, Lorana (Kyle), Jessica (Steven), Emilee, and great-great grandmother to 2 grandchildren, Savannah and Carsen.
Also left to mourn her loss are her sisters-in-law Mary and Murlin.
To honour her wishes, cremation has taken place with a Celebration of Life to be held on Friday, November 27, at 11:00 a.m., at the O'Dacre Family Funeral Home, 15 Victoria Street, Perth, followed by a reception in the funeral home.
Private interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Middleville, in the Spring of 2016.

Death of John Somerville,

As a result of the automobile accident which happened last Monday, July 12th, when Mr. Nelson Somerville with his family of two daughters and one son, father, and two brothers, were on the way to the Orange celebration at Carleton Place, John Somerville, the father, passed away on Thursday, July l5th, at the home of Mr. Hiram McCreary, about three mile from Carleton Place. After the accident Mr. Somerville had been removed to Mr. McCrearys, where he lay unconscious until his death. Although few marks were on his body, it was thought that he had sustained a fracture at the base of the skull. He was sitting in the back seat when the car turned over on its side and was thrown upon the ground with so much violence that the shock seemed to shatter the entire nervous system. Mr. Lewis Somerville had his arm fractured and Mr. N. G. Somerville was badly shaken up. The other occupants of the car escaped without injury.

Mr. Somerville was in his 73rd year. He was a native of Lanark township, born on the well known homestead near Middleville, and lived there all his life. On August 28th, 1871, John Somerville and Marion Campbell were married and settled down. To them were born four sons George L., of Milden, Sask.; Nelson G., of Brockville; R. Lewis, of Middleville; Lorne on the homestead, and an adopted daughter, Clara, now Mrs. Roy Affleck, Demaine, Sask.
Mrs. Somerville died July 6th, 1906. Two brothers are Robert C. of Middleville and James of Toronto. Two sisters were the late Mrs. A. H. McIntyre of Middleville, and the late Mrs. Purdy of Chicago.

The funeral took place on Saturday, 17th inst., from the Somerville farm to the Congregational church, Middleville, thence to cemetery, Rev. F. Sanders officiating. Tha pallbearers were Messrs. John T., James, Matthew, William and David Somerville and Sam. Yuill. The service in the church was very impressive. The passing of Mr. Somerville removes from the community of Middleville one of its best known members. He was an active and progressive farmer, taking a keen interest in all things. He was associated with the Liberal party and followed the fortunes of his political friends with steady loyalty. Although he had passed the age three score and ten, he was a man of youthful appearance and high spirits. His family feel his loss keenly, for the day's outing had promised to be one of the happiest in his life, with his three sons and three grandchildren, and everything going along smoothly when the accident occurred.

Death of Mr. David Mather.
Another gap has been made in the fast diminishing ranks of the old Middleville settlers. David Mather, aged 78 years, passed away to his long home Friday afternoon. He had not been well for years, and throughout the last three or four months had suffered almost continuously from a bad form of stomach trouble. Mr. David Mather was born on tha homestead at Middleville, but having a turn for carpentry followed that calling in his younger days. Two brothers, Robert and Matthew, of Bancroft, and one sister, Mrs. Wm. Somerville, are survivors of one of the best known and most respected families of the district. Mr. Mather married Isabella Gillies and two of a family George and Ida are left to mourn a devoted father. Deceased was a staunch supporter of the Reform party. In church matters he was Congregationalist. The funeral took place on Sunday at one o'clock to Middleville Congregational church and thence to cemetery.
