    According to Brenda Turner (my long lost cousin) William McLatchie was granted land by the Crown on August 24, 1832, along with Samuel Gooding, John McLatchie (his brother?), Robert Davis, Daniel McIntosh and John Dunlop. William was granted the north half of Lot 26, 3rd rang (concession road), or about 100 acres in West Templeton. William McLatchie was granted the south half of the same lot. this was found in the records of "lands granted by the Crown in the Province of QC from 1763 to 1890, which was found at the Carleton University Library.
    In the records of the Parish of West Templeton , there is an entry that William Richard McLatchie was interred in the cemetery in Templeton on 8 Nov 1885 by Methodist Minister, Mr. G.E. Thurton. A witness to the burial was Mr. W. R. McLatchie, presumed to be his son.

    William married Elizabeth Gillies.
