    CAMPBELL, James Willard -
    Jim Campbell died peacefully at Cassellholme Home for the Aged, North Bay, on Wednesday, April 1, 2009. He was in his 87th year. Jim was predeceased by his wife Ruth (nee Quigley) (1926 -2006). He was the beloved father of Glen Campbell (Susan) of North Bay and grandfather of Greg and Lisa Campbell. Jim was the dear brother of Blanche McLaughlan of Oakville, Dorothy Adamson of Toronto, Jean Campbell of Guelph and the late Elsie Meehan, Evelyn Bartraw, Clinton, Lloyd, John, June and Joan Campbell.
    Jim was born July 31, 1922 in Nipissing Township. He was one of 11 children of Ruby Ann (Barber) and Albert Campbell. He married Ruth Quigley on September 15, 1951 and they made their home in North Bay and had one son, Glen.
    Jim worked as a Carman with the Canadian Pacific Railway. Throughout his adult life Jim was active playing baseball in the summer and hockey in the winter. He was part of the South Shore Hockey League. He also enjoyed partridge hunting and ice fishing and taking long walks in the evenings. After 43 years, Jim retired from the CPR and he and Ruth moved to Callander until failing health necessitated their move to the Emmanuel Apartments. Ruth died in 2006 and Jim moved into Cassellholme in June of 2008.
    The funeral service for Mr. Campbell was officiated by Pastor Carole Dobbs at the PAUL FUNERAL HOME, Powassan on Sunday, April 5, 2009. Casket bearers were Greg Campbell, George Good, Jim Bartraw and Denis McLachlan. Interment at Powassan Union Cemetery will take place later in spring. Following the service, the Campbell family welcomed friends and relatives for a time of fellowship and a luncheon in the Paul Funeral Home reception room.     Ruth died peacefully at North Bay General Hospital on Monday, August 28, 2006 in her 81st year after a brief illness. Ruth (Quigley) was the beloved wife of James W. Campbell of North Bay, and the loving mother of Glen (Susan) of North Bay. She was the proud grandmother of Greg & Lisa Campbell. Ruth was predeceased by her parents Pearl Ann (Storie) and Joseph Quigley and her sister Helen Fraser. She is survived by her sisters Muriel Keall (Gordon, deceased) of Astorville, Vera Duquette (Pat) of North Bay, Verna Giesler (Willie) of Powassan and Joseph Hector (Sylvia) of Powassan

    Ruth was born on March 26, 1926 in Nipissing Township. She was the third of 6 children of Pearl Ann (Storie) and Joseph Quigley. Ruth grew up attending school in Christian Valley and was working when she met James "Jim" Campbell. They were married on September 15, 1951. A year Later they were blessed with the birth of their only child, Glen. In her younger years she liked to attend dances. After Glen had begun school, Ruth returned to the workforce and managed the Lighthouse Lodge on Lake Nipissing for two years. She also managed the Look-Out Motel for 7 years and worked at the Terrace Motel. When she wasn't occupied with the hospitality industry, Ruth enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables both outside and in the home. Her home always had birdfeeders and she especially liked watching the hummingbirds feed. Ruth would send Glen to the store to bake something for her neighbours whenever they experienced a death or a challenge. Throughout her life and even during failing health, Ruth remained actively interested in and supportive of her family and friends. After a brief stay in ...

    Ruth Yvonne Quigley
    Ruth, the fourth child of Pearl (nee Storie) and Joseph Quigley, was born on March 26, 1924 in Nipissing Township. Like the rest of her siblings she grew up in Christian Valley near the village of Nipissing where she attended school. On September 15 she married James Willard Campbell of North Bay, and is the mother of one son, Glen. In her younger years she lived to go to dances. After Glen had started his schooling, Ruth managed the Lighthouse Lodge on the Lake of Nipissing for two years, then the Lookout Motel for seven years and the the Terrace Motel. Ruth enjoyed baking for family and friends. she enjoyed gardening, watching and feeding birds. On August 28, 2006 she died of cancer at the North Bay General Hospital. Mom said when her sisters went to get her clothes for the funeral she already had them all together and waiting for them. Ruth is interned at the Powassan Union Cemetery.

    A Nipissing resident all her life, Ruby M. Campbell of Callander, died Tuesday at Stonehouse Nursing Home in Trout Creek after a lengthy illness. She was 82.
    A funeral service will be conducted at the Paul Chapel Thursday at 2 pm by Rev. Robert Jackson. Interment will be at the Nipissing Cemetery.
    Born Aug 6, 1892, in Hotham, Ont.m, Mrs. Camppbell was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Barber.
    Mrs. Campbell married Albert Campbell Dec. 21, 1910 in Powassan, Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last December.
    Mrs. Campbell was predeceased by a sister, Mrs. Jim Eckford (Earlene) and three infants, and is survived by her husband, four sons, Clinton at home; Jimmy of Callanader; Lloyd of Sudbury, and John of Toronto, seven daughters, Mrs. Elwood Bartraw (Evelyn) of Powassan, Mrs. Percy McLachlan (Blancke) of Sudbury, Mrs. Bernie Meehan (Elsie) of North Bay, Mrs. Jack Adamson (Dorothy) of Toronto, Mrs. George Good (Jean) of Guelph, June of Toronto and Joan, at home; six brothers, William of Powassan, Wellesly and Harry of Callander, Donald of Hotham, Gordon of North Bay, and Laughlan of Matheson; and three sisters, Mrs. Ken Purdon (Jessie), Mrs. Eric Briggs (Alice) both of Powassan and Mrs. Claude Mills (Maudie) of Callander.
