Dorothy Lou Brys, born on January 10, 1936, joined our heavenly Father on January 29, 2011. Her grandson Ryan and brother Clair were at her side.
Born Dorothy Lou Stivers, she was raised by loving adoptive parents Bill and Lillian Parrish of Cambridge.
Dorothy attended Cambridge High School, where she met Robert Curtis Pierce. They married I June of 1954.
Preceding in death by her husband Robert Pierce and their infant son Steven Robert; adoptive parents Bil and Lillian Parrish; birth parents James and Grace Stivers; brothers: Ray, Albert and James; sisters: Clara Mae, Liz, Mary Louise and Iona.
Survived by her daughter Paula Deanne along with her husband Dennis O'Hara; grandsons Ryan Pierce O'Hara (Tammy), Joel Taylor O'Hara (Rosie), two great-grandchildren Katie and Conner, all of Upland, California; cherished life long friend and brother Clair Stivers of Macomb and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy led a blessed and wonderful life. She was hard working and was most proud of the years she gave to the Lumas County, California Sheriff's department, as well asa the many charitable endeavors she supported.
Dorothy was a life-long Christian and attended the First Baptist Church of Avon until her health declined.
Diane and Ray finn, along with Clair Stivers, cared for Dorothy throughout the past several months. On behalf of Dorothy's immediate family, we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
Mom, your love will remain with us all forever.
An intimate family memorial will be held in Upland, California at a later date to celebrate Dorothy's life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests on Dorothy's behalf, please quit smoking and live a long and healthy life.
Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements.

Parrish-Pierce Vows Are Said
CAMBRIDGE, Illinois
Miss Dorothy Lou Parrish, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Parrish Cambridge, became the bride ot Robert Curtis Pierce, son of Mrs Byron Pierce, Cambridge, and of the late Mr. Pierce at 8 p.m Saturday in the Osco, Ill. Community Church.
The Rev. Gideon Carlson performed the ceremony. Miss Gladys Peterson, Cambridge, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Janifer Engquist and Miss Eileen Naslund, both of Cambridge, and Miss Beth Parrish, Orion. Janet Bloom, Cambridge, was flower girl.
Duane Burnett, Cambridge, served as best man. Ushers were Jim Hagg, Cambridge; Bob Davis. Bloomington, Ill..; Paul Putla, Kewance, Ill., Bruce Kelly and Bob Gustafson. both of Cambridge and Walter Wadman, Rockford, Ill., were groomsmen. Eddie Hedbloom, Cambridge, was ring bearer.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full-length gown of white satin extending into a Chapel train. Imported lace fashioned the molded bodice and panelled the skirt. The circular veil of nylon tulle was held by a cap of satin and seed pearls accented with pearl droplets. The bride carried a cascade arrangement of white roses and stephanotis. The bride's attendants wore waltz-length, blue nylon net over taffeta gowns with lace jackets. They carried white imported lace fans centered with white daisies. The reception was held in the church parlors following the ceremony. After June 13 the bridal couple will reside at 605 West Jefferson street, Bloomington.
The bride is a graduate of Cambridge high school.
Also a graduate of Cambridge high school, the bridegroom is attending Illinois Wesleyan university, Bloomington.
