    Wilson John Bry Jr.

    Wilson John Brys Jr., 75, died June 14, 2000, at Sunbridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Quincy. He was born May 8, 1925, in Bellevue, Wash.

    Wilson was a Plumas County resident since moving here in 1968 from Los Angeles. He had been a longtime resident of Twain and had just recently moved to Quincy.

    He was employed by Western Pacific Railroad, retiring after 22 years of service as a Steel Gang Supervisor. Following his retirement from the railroad, he served as Campground Supervisor at Whitehorse Campground at Bucks Lake for a number of years.

    Wilson served with the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific during World War II, and was proud to be a crew member aboard the USS Enterprise.

    An avid railroad buff, he enjoyed the outdoors of Plumas County and especially the Feather River Canyon through snowmobiling, hiking, fishing and camping.

    He is survived by his son, Jonathan Wayne Brys of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter, Jacie Brys-Castle of Anchorage, Alaska; brother, Bill Wheeler of Chehalis, Wash.; and three grandchildren, all of Anchorage, Alaska.

    Following a cremation at Fehrman Crematory in Quincy, at his request no services were held. The family requests any donations in his memory be made to the Plumas County Sheriff Association's Needy Children's Fund, co Fehrman Mortuary and Crematory, P.O. Box 53, Quincy, CA 95971.

    Garettee Emmet McFarland, 60, of Rt 7 Box 442, died Friday In a local hospital. Born In Minnesota he had lived here 56 years and was a maintenance man at Mount Rainier Ordnance Depot.

    Mr McFarland was a member of Fern Hill Lodge No 80, F&AM. Survivors are his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Mrs Bonnie Jean Rehwinkel and Mrs Geraldine Bixby, both of Tacoma and four grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 am Wednesday In the Piper Funeral Home with members of the Fern Hill Masonic Lodge officiating Burial will be In the Tacoma Cemetery.

    CHARLES WRIGHT, 74, ISLAND, SUCCUMBS

    A resident of Beach, Wash., for the past thirteen years, Charles Wright, aged 74 years, passed away at his home there Saturday following a long illness. He was a former cannery and hotel operator.

    Surviving relatives are his widow, Olive R. Wright, at home; one daughter, Elsie, Tacoma; and one brother, W. A. Wright, Vancouver, B.C.

    Death T. DeWitt Tanner will conduct the funeral services Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Harlow-Hollingsworth funeral home. Cremation will follow.

    CHARLES WRIGHT

    President of the Hotel Byron Company; born in Toronto, Canada, May 26, 1866; son of Henry and ?i?Elizabeth (Shaw) Wright?/i?; educated in the public school. Began his business career in 1884 in the employ of the Canadian Pacific Railroad at Winnipeg, and continued in the service of that company for ten years. He then moved to Point Roberts, Washington, and with his brother Frank Wright, organized the Wright Brothers Fishing Company, which business they sold to the Pacific American Fish Company in 1898, and in 1901 purchased controlling interest in the Carlisle Packing Company at Lummi Island. In June, 1902, with M. C. Dickinson, he purchased the interest of Roehl Brothers, proprietors of The Hotel Byron. He is a member of the Cougar Club and the Elks. Married in 1896 to Miss Jean Brown. Residence: 2705 Eldridge Ave. Business address: Hotel Byron, Bellingham.
